IMPACT
This is a Sheffield-wide organisation based on faith communities and aims to help get people's voices heard in the "corridors of power". It has been involved in many projects over the years including the Bernard Road Incinerator, the Stocksbridge Bypass and is currently working on Financial exclusion. Several members of our congregation are deeply involved and the Church supports the organisation financially.
Choirs
Members of our congregation are involved in local choirs including Beighton Male Voice Chior, Eckington Singers and Sheffield Folke Chorale so if you like singing, we have the contacts! We also have an informal singing group in Church.
Beighton Villages Development Trust
This is a local community organisation involved primarily with European Funding but is also involved with local community concerns. The Environment Group meet in Church (we are aiming to become an ECOCHURCH) and we have close contacts with BVDT.
A small group from the congregation visit people coping with dementia to spend time and befriend them.
We also have close contact with Scouts and Guides and Beighton W. I. Members of St Mary's are involved with our local lunch clubs and we also provide a Christmas Day lunch in the Church Hall. We have three primary schools in Beighton and three members of our congregation are governors. Each year we produce a very popular panto based at Brookhouse and Reignhead schools. Last year over
1400 people came to see us raising over £2000 for charities!
